A call to action from Indian faith leaders
Representatives from the Indian Interfaith Network to End Child Marriage are calling on their counterparts, across all the faiths and in every country, to join the Global Interfaith Weekend to End Child Marriage.

The Global Interfaith Weekend to End Child Marriage is inspired by the Indian Interfaith Network to End Child Marriage.
In July 2024, the network was established and declared its support for the elimination of child marriage across India. Working with the Child Marriage Free India campaign, tens of thousands of Indian faith leaders, representing Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Buddhism, and Judaism became part of a movement which has mobilised millions of Indian citizens, across hundreds of thousands of communities, to pledge to end this form of violence against children.

Below, representatives of the Indian Interfaith Network to End Child Marriage make a direct call to action to faith leaders.
A call to action to faith leaders all over the world

We, the faith leaders from India, express our collective support for the Global Interfaith Weekend to End Child Marriage.

We urge our fellow faith leaders across the globe to participate in the Global Interfaith Weekend to End Child Marriage, 12-14 September 2025.

As leaders of different faiths, let each one of us mobilise our faith communities on our days of worship during the weekend of 12-14 September 2025.

Let us communicate our shared goal of a Child Marriage Free World in our sermons, meetings, and community engagements.
