Global Interfaith Weekend 2025 Highlights

From 12–14 September 2025, faith leaders in 40 countries came together for the first Global Interfaith Weekend to End Child Marriage. Events were held across Africa, Asia, and beyond, with strong participation from countries most affected by child marriage.

Leaders from Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, and other traditions spoke in their communities, while faith schools engaged students in learning about the harms of child marriage. On 18 September, faith leaders adopted a global interfaith declaration and committed to future actions, including a 2026 initiative to display signs reading “No Child Marriage Here” at places of worship.

This united stand marks the beginning of a growing global movement of faith leaders working to end child marriage.
